Prescribed burns are taking place again today in northeast Boulder. The burns will take place as far east as North 95th Street and will be complete by 3pm.

Boulder community members may notice smoke in northeast Boulder today as crews continue burning ditches in the Hartnagle-Werner properties. These prescribed burns are conducted by Boulder Fire-Rescue in collaboration with Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

Today’s burn will take place just west of North 95th Street, putting it more east of Boulder than the past two week’s burns. Community members in Lafayette may be aware of the smoke as well.

Burn ignition will begin after 10 a.m. and will end prior to 3 p.m. Community members may continue to see smoke past 3 p.m. as the fire crews work on extinguishing the prescribed burn. Please do not call 911 to report these burns as they are not emergencies.
