A helicopter hauled more than 85 tons of rock and building materials to help construct the new Anemone Hill Trail.
The City of Boulder plans to use a helicopter on Tuesday, Oct. 18, to move materials to help conduct repairs on the Mount Sanitas Trail. City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks anticipates that the helicopter will operate between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18. If weather conditions are not suitable on Tuesday, helicopter work will occur as soon as weather conditions allow.
The city will close the Mount Sanitas trail and portions of the Sanitas Valley and Dakota Ridge trail while the helicopter operates. The East Ridge and Lion’s Lair Trail will remain open. OSMP encourages community members to visit OSMPTrails.org to view current trail closures across Boulder’s open space system.

Rangers may issue citations to people who access closed trails/areas. The helicopter cannot complete its work if open space visitors are in the construction area – which may result in safety hazards and costly trail construction delays.
